Welcome to the team at Hot Yoga For You. Between us we have many years of yoga experience in a number of different styles. Below are our primary instructors, but we frequently have guest teachers at the Studio to keep our delivery fresh and varied.

I discovered yoga many years ago when living in Auckland and training as a Sports NMT Massage Therapist. The college held weekend yoga classes and I was inspired by a teacher from India who tapped a deeper inner sense of understanding of what it was to breath, move and let go. Years on and a trip to Auckland visiting a friend I stepped into a Hot Yoga Class and a further tapping sparked a stronger sense of wanting to learn and teach yoga. With over twelve years of anatomy and physiology knowledge at hand I felt confident to formally train in Yoga and in 2011 I made this happen.  From there came the next step, to open a Yoga Studio here in my home town of Masterton. Now five years on I’m undergoing further yoga training overseas to register my 500 hours in advanced training as a yoga teacher. I love the fact, the journey and the learnings are endless and to pass on this knowledge in my teachings is the essence and passion to my being. Come and enjoy our many class styles, our teachers, the space and the community of amazing souls who gather at the studio. See you there, Namaste.

Karina is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She is passionate about making yoga accessible for anyone, including pregnancy yoga through to postnatal, kids yoga and yoga for seniors. Her personal yoga path started around 15 years ago with a focus on asana (yoga postures).  Over the years this focus expanded to include pranayama (breath techniques), meditation and philosophy. In 2012 she completed her first teacher training, a 200 hour Vinyasa Flow qualification in London, UK. Since then she has completed several courses in specialist areas with more teacher training planned.

After joining my mother Lucy on the mat in my teenage years I returned to Yoga when living in the tropics as a 30 something. I then continued to seek it when moving to the Wairarapa ten years later.

The want to further understand this ancient system took me to Byron Bay Yoga to complete E- RYT 200. The love of practicing and teaching has held its own and I continue to relish the growth and Peace away from the ' busy norm' that it offers. It is my reset button.

I am a relatively new teacher at the yoga studio. I have always had a strong fitness regime, and attended a gym and swum for many years. It took a lot of convincing to get me to attend my first Hot Yoga class. At the end of my very first class I felt absolutely amazing (thanks to Shari). I have practised at the Hot yoga studio ever since that first day.  I attended Wanderlust Taupo 2015 and was inspired to take the leap into teacher training. I have since completed my teaching through Power Living and trained with Jase Te Patu in Wellington, and Duncan Peak in Bali. I now teach regular classes at Shari’s studio. I am passionate about teaching Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa , and love the gentler Yin as well. I hope to do more training in these areas over the next few years. My aim, when you come to my yoga class, is to make you feel as good as I do, after every single class.

I met Shari and discovered her new venture, HOT YOGA FOR YOU. WOW!!! I signed up as soon as I could. I am now a regular ‘yogi’ and get to as many classes as I can manage with my busy timetable.

What were the results? After 2 months, 6 cm off my waist and on my chest with strength, flexibility and a physique I had only dreamed of for over 35 years - all good!

I started Karina's antenatal yoga class at 28 weeks and attended my last class 3 days before my son was born. This was my third pregnancy, and it was fabulous. I felt fit, comfortable and most importantly relaxed and mentally and physically prepared for the birth, which I believe was largely due to attending antenatal yoga classes.
